Welcome to Week 2 in our DCI Imperialism Map Project! If you are new to this series, we strongly encourage you to read the introduction first to get an understanding of the project and how it will be structured.

What a week it was on the DCI Tour to wrap up our second week in the Imperialism Map Project. A busy week culminated on Saturday with five events across the country and all 21 World Class corps in competition. The night was crucial for the season's competition as the combined rankings from the shows set seeding groups to determine performance draw at this weekend's Southwestern Championship in San Antonio. When the dust settled, it was the Bluecoats who came out on top, finishing with a 87.05 and clinching the top spot in the rankings for the time being.

In Open Class, competition wrapped up on the west coast as you'll see reflected on the map below. Congratulations to Vessel, Impulse, Golden Empire, and Blue Devils who finished a great 2024 season at the SoCal Classic yesterday! As for Blue Devils B and Gold, we'll look forward to seeing them later in the season in shows leading up to World Championships. Elsewhere, Spartans picked up the second leg of their tour, competing at four events in six days, while The Battalion made their 2024 debut and competed in three events.

All Age class had a smattering of competition, most of which took place on Saturday in Clifton, NJ. Reading Buccaneers won their second show of the season, while Govenaires and Atlanta CV won one show each and claimed more land on their respective maps.

Below is a break down of where the maps for each class stand after the second week, as well lists of each show and their show winners, and total number of shows and counties won by each corps.

Looking Ahead to Week 3

The DCI Tour swings towards the central part of the country this week in preparation for Texas Tour and Saturday's big show in San Antonio. Only 13 shows will be taking place but seven of them in Texas alone. Other highlights include Tuesday's big showdown in Broken Arrow featuring seven of the top eight ranked corps, and another All Age matchup on Saturday in Landisville, PA. Be sure to check back next week as we continue our DCI Imperialism Map series!
