Welcome to Week 3 in our DCI Imperialism Map Project! If you are new to this series, we strongly encourage you to read the introduction first to get an understanding of the project and how it will be structured.

We've officially reached the midpoint of the 2024 DCI season. The first half of the season came to its apex as corps descended to the central south of the country, ultimately converging in Texas for the much anticipated Texas Tour. A number of key matchups saw their first meetings of the season this past week, including the high profile showdown between last year's top seven corps in Broken Arrow. The week concluded in even grander fashion at the Southwestern Championship in San Antonio for the first time (and only time until World Championships) that all 21 World Class corps performed under the same roof for the same judges and spectators.

By the end of the week, it was Bluecoats who had the most to celebrate after winning all four shows they performed in and continuing their undefeated streak. In terms of the Imperialism map, they extended their lead to 393 counties controlled. And despite it being a less busy week with only nine World Class shows and 12 shows total, the competition for the map was kept interesting by shows won by six different corps (including Blue Stars who claimed the land for the exhibition-only show in Hutchinson, KS).

Open Class had a relatively quiet week, dominated primarily by Guardians who swept the state of Texas as the only Open Class representation in the Lone Star state. The end of the week saw the start of the Open Class tour in Ohio where Spartans took two shows over River City Rhythm and The Battalion. Raiders also won land in the mid-Atlantic after making their 2024 debut in Landisville, PA.

All Age class continues to be dominated by Reading Buccaneers on the east coast who won their third show in as many weeks. Cincinnati Tradition claimed more land in their home state of Ohio, winning the same pair of shows won by Spartans.

Below is a break down of where the maps for each class stand after the third week, as well lists of each show and their show winners, and total number of shows and counties won by each corps.
