Welcome to the next chapter of bandScores coverage in the marching arts

bandScores is excited to announce a new chapter for our site — the launch of our official Substack page!

bandScores.net has always been committed to being the online resource for current and historical score data across the marching arts, and I’m excited to expand the ways we connect with you. Just like everything on the site, this Substack will be completely free and open access — no paywalls, no subscriptions required.

One of the biggest reasons I decided to make this move for this move is to introduce something new: the “Marching Minutes”, a (mostly) weekly newsletter bringing you the latest news, updates, and thoughts from across the marching activity directly to your inbox. I’ve wanted to expand bandScores’ written content for a while now and this seemed like a great way to do it — a quick, digestible newsletter with all the happenings you need to know, with added competitions results, rankings, season trends, and insights mixed in.

I’ll also use the new Substack to share bandScores’ occasional written projects and content that’s been posted to bandscores.net/blog in the past. This includes b(AI)ndScores rankings, updates on new site pages and projects, and the 2025 return of WGI Milestones - a three part series wrapping up the WGI season and the incredible accomplishments achieved at World Championships. Look for the first part in the series to be released tomorrow!

While this Substack page will be the primary home for Marching Minutes, a lot of the aforementioned posts will still be published to the bandScores blog page. But be sure to subscribe using the email text box at the end of this article to ensure that all of our new posts arrive in your inbox the moment they’re posted.

Thank you for being part of the growing bandScores community. We’re excited for this next step, and we can’t wait to share even more with you!
